Company history I started this business because, at one time I was the new user and needed help from someone. I wasn't exactly happy with the service I received - I didn't like the condescending attitude from the young man I was talking to - because I wasn't familiar with the home computer at that time, and didn't know that thing-a-ma-jig was called a floppy drive slot. I have been using computers in one form or another, since the early days of the computer being as big as a house, in my career. So, I decided to learn more. I went to school, and talked to a very knowlegable and helpful computer person. I learned a lot on my own. I got the techno-babble down! But, I didn't want to talk like that to the user, who, like me, didn't know the correct terminology being used for computers. In 1995, with a small loan from my bank, and my family support, I started my business: Philpott Computer Services. I started out small, in my home in Phelan, California. My friends and family were my first customers, and word spread. My business wasn't huge, and still isn't. My spouse and I retired early from our full-time jobs, and moved to our favorite recreational area, Arizona, in 2005. I started spreading around posters, and business cards, and got some calls. My new and old friends here let others know also. So here we are, I finally have a real website, and love it here. My business is in no way big. I have a very small group of clientale, and only work rarely. But, I keep up with the technology, and I recently graduated with my AA in Computers, Network Security and Web/Graphics Design. In October 2009, I began the new Photography side of my business. I love photography, and I love having and providing memories. In April 2009, I joined NAPP, the National Association of PhotoShop Professionals and attended their conference in late September - I was HOOKED! I met many professional artists and photographers, and they INSPIRED me to move into the photography side of the business. So, again, here I am moving into a bigger direction of what I love to do! Let me share this with you! I have now grown to Philpott Computer Services & Photography! |
